OUR WORK: CASCADIA INNOVATION CORRIDOR

"Working together, we can build a globally competitive 21st century innovation corridor that connects and enhances both regions. This is a unique opportunity that can create benefits for people throughout the region for generations to come."

-Brad Smith, President & Chief Legal Officer of Microsoft

PARTNERING TO CREATE A VIBRANT MEGA-REGION

Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle, Washington have much in common: unsurpassed physical beauty; geographic proximity to Asia; world-renowned research organizations; global corporate leaders across diverse sectors; and market-leading capabilities in next-generation technologies driving the global economy.

The Cascadia Innovation Corridor links Vancouver and Seattle and offers the opportunity to provide leadership, innovative problem-solving and increased prosperity beyond what each city can achieve independently. When we work and think like a region we become more than the sum of our parts, allowing Cascadia to have a bigger positive impact on the world’s health, environment and prosperity.

A public-private effort led by Challenge Seattle and the Business Council of British Columbia, the Cascadia Innovation Corridor Partnership will:

  • Facilitate cross-border knowledge exchange.

  • Jointly advance and integrate our common infrastructure needs.

  • Support strategies that accelerate the Pacific Northwest economy.

  • Create an innovative ecosystem that attracts capital and the world’s top talent.

  • Build a network of connected people, companies, capital, universities, colleges, and researchers.
