Our Focus

The Cascadia Innovation Corridor connects the peoples of British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon in a spirit of common endeavor. Like the other 40 mega-regions in the world, Cascadia is first and foremost an economic engine for regional prosperity today and tomorrow. Unique to our mega-region, we are striving to become the world’s first sustainable mega-region. We are committed to planning for responsible growth by addressing the challenges that come with an increasing population, such as prohibitive housing costs and congestion, while seizing the opportunity to manifest a brighter, healthier, affordable, and connected future for our community. Through the Cascadia Innovation Corridor, we work toward these goals through our experts on our subcommittees who engage in cross-border partnerships.

Impact Spotlight

Making High-Speed Rail a Reality with over $150 Million Committed

“We commit our states and province to advancing work on the Ultra-High-Speed Ground Transportation project and to pursuing emissions reduction with a focus on equity, inclusion and meaningful community engagement.”

— Excerpt from the MOU signed by Governor Jay Inslee of Washington, Governor Kate Brown of Oregon, and Premier John Horgan of British Columbia signed at the 2021 Cascadia Innovation Corridor conference.

Our Work

As co-chair of the Cascadia Innovation Corridor, we convene regional leaders for cross-border action in service of our shared goal to become the world’s first sustainable mega-region. From ultra-high-speed ground transportation to connect the Corridor, to reimagining agriculture in the age of technology, we are thinking and acting big to manifest a bright, healthy, and prosperous future.

We do this in partnership with leaders from the Corridor, together who have the geographic reach, influence, and expertise in key sectors (e.g., technology, higher education) to drive progress. Additionally, we host an annual conference to bring together the larger community and thought leaders on the challenges facing and opportunities ahead for our mega-region.
